How the Alex Tree Services mobile app collects, uses, and protects your information.

This Privacy Policy describes how ALX Tree Service ("ALX Tree Service," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Alex Tree Services mobile application (the "App"). The App is a field and crew management tool intended for Alex Tree Services crews and staff. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information so the App can function:
- Account information. When your employer or administrator creates an account for you, we collect identifiers such as your name, email address, and assigned role (for example, crew member or office staff).
- Job and work records. Job details, customer and office notes, crew size, equipment used, appointment and arrival times, clock in/out times, job duration, and completion notes that you enter or that are assigned to you.
- Photos and media. Before, during, after, and completion photos you capture or upload to document work performed at a job site, along with any media you attach to a job.
- Location information. With your permission, the App accesses your device location to help crews navigate to and confirm job sites. You can control location access through your device settings.
- Camera and photo library. With your permission, the App accesses your camera and photo library so you can capture and upload job-site photos.
- Device and usage information. We may collect technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic or crash data to keep the App reliable and secure.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
- Display assigned jobs, schedules, arrival windows, and job details to crews;
- Record time tracking, equipment, crew size, and job completion data;
- Store and display photos that document work for customers and insurance purposes;
- Help crews navigate to and confirm job sites using location;
- Communicate job updates between the field and the office;
- Provide the App in English, Spanish, and Portuguese;
- Diagnose problems, improve performance, and protect the security of the App.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the App:
- Within your organization. Job, time, photo, and location data is shared with Alex Tree Services administrators, office staff, and authorized crew members so work can be coordinated and completed.
- Service providers. We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, cloud storage, mapping, and similar services that help us run the App. These providers may process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ALX Tree Service, our crews, or others.
Permissions
The App requests certain device permissions to provide its features. You may grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings, although doing so may limit some functionality:
- Location — to navigate to and confirm job sites;
- Camera — to capture before, during, after, and completion photos;
- Photos / storage — to upload and attach existing photos to jobs.
Data Retention
We retain job records, photos, and related information for as long as needed to provide the App and to meet business, legal, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You can control location, camera, and photo permissions through your device settings. If you would like to access, correct, or delete information associated with your account, contact your administrator or reach us using the details below. Because the App is provided to crews and staff by their employer, some requests may be directed to your organization's administrator.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use by Alex Tree Services crews and staff and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
